“Afgooey” Feminized Cannabis Seeds – Strain Hunters
Afgoeey Feminized Cannabis Seeds are a Strain Hunters cult! A cannabis plant with unique properties, with a higher percentage of Indica in its DNA, is ready to show its consumers the stars!
Characteristics of this Cannabis variety
Afgooey Feminized is a popular Northern California cut. So far a clone only strain, we are the first to present it in feminized seeds, having successfully killed inverted and crossed on itself (S1). Afgooey is a very strong and vigorous plant.
The leaves are thick and dark green, with overlapping leaflets. Short internodes, bushy structure, thick branches and wide stems are typical of this variety.
Strain Hunters feminized Afgooey can take high levels of EC, and is great for Sea of Green or Scrog systems.
It performs well in all types of terrain and can do great things outdoors as well. The buds are pear-shaped, compact, dense, with a medium-large calyx. The resin is very dense and the plants become very smelly already in the middle of flowering.
Effect and taste of Afgooey Feminized by Strain Hunters
The Afgooey is very out of tune, with a cerebral effect that I can define confusing, intoxicating, almost chaotic. It hits fast and lasts a long time.
Afgooey Feminized Hybrid – Strain Hunters
Afgooey Feminized by Strain Hunters is one of the most prized and sought-after genetics from the US West Coast. Originally available only as an elite clone in Northern California, this legendary plant (a superb cross between an Afghan indica and Maui Haze) was reproduced and stabilized in seed form by Arjan and Franco Loja’s team.
Its name plays with the word “gooey”, a clear reference to the incredible amount of sticky resin coating the flowers. It develops an extremely compact vegetative plane, with very short internodes and thick, broad leaves typical of the most tenacious indicas. It is the ideal genetics for extraction lovers and growers seeking maximum density in confined spaces.
Afgooey Feminized in brief
This formidable indica completes its flowering cycle in a flash, requiring just 8 weeks (56 days). Indoors, under proper environmental management, it ensures excellent yields fluctuating between 400 and 500g/m². Outdoors, it performs magnificently, easily exceeding 500-600g per plant.
THC content easily touches 20%, guaranteeing a long-lasting and deep psychoactive impact. Post-switch vertical elongation is minimal and causes no height issues. The olfactory profile is a pungent, tropical mix, dominated by notes of sweet citrus, ripe orange, Afghan earth, and exotic woods.

Cultural Management (Indoor and Outdoor)
Indoors, Afgooey is the perfect candidate for the Sea of Green (SOG) system. Thanks to its extremely short internodal space, the plant develops rocky buds that merge into thick, uninterrupted colas. However, this compactness requires attention: the dense aerial mass and large fan leaves require methodical defoliation to allow light to reach the lower branches and prevent moisture buildup. Nutrient absorption is high; the plant responds very well to intense mineral regimes, tolerating an EC up to 1.8 at peak flowering. Keep the VPD at 1.3-1.4 kPa and drastically lower humidity (below 45%) in the final two weeks to ward off botrytis.
Outdoors, this genetics thrives in temperate and Mediterranean climates. It develops a massive root platform that perfectly adapts to open ground or large-capacity pots. Its rapid flowering allows it to nimbly dodge cold October rains, making it an excellent choice for high altitude or guerrilla cultivation, where its short and bushy bearing guarantees excellent visual discretion.
Terpene Profile and Effect
Afgooey’s bouquet is intense, complex, and highly persistent. During flowering, the environment is saturated by a penetrating scent of sweet orange, tropical fruit, and lemon, counterbalanced by a solid background of spicy earth and hashish typical of the Afghan line.
The effect is known to be fast and powerful. It begins with an unexpected cerebral high, slightly psychedelic and confusing (Maui Haze heritage), which rapidly evolves into a devastating physical stone. It induces a deep bodily muscle relaxation that soothes pain, stimulates a strong appetite, and promotes sleep. It is a late-evening variety, poorly suited for work activities.
Strain Comparisons
Afgooey vs Caboose
Caboose offers spongier and more voluminous buds with a distinctively metallic and floral flavor. Afgooey responds with greater rocky bud density, incredibly stickier (gooey) resin, and a distinctly more citrusy and tropical terpene profile.
Afgooey vs White Lemon
Both feature citric notes, but White Lemon leans toward sourer and “skunky” scents with a more balanced hybrid effect. Afgooey offers a flavor of sweet orange and earth, coupled with a decidedly heavier sedative and narcotic physical effect.
FAQ
Why do the buds look so small in the vegetative stage?
The genetics has a strictly Afghan bearing, remaining very squat for many weeks. The floral explosion and the development of the branch plane occur rapidly during the first weeks at 12/12. Do not prolong the vegetative phase excessively out of fear of stunting.
How should I manage humidity at the end of flowering?
Afgooey’s buds are dense as stones. An excellent ventilation system and a dehumidifier are mandatory indoors to keep humidity below 45% during the root flush and avoid internal molds.
Annibale Seedshop’s Opinion
Afgooey Feminized by Strain Hunters is a piece of California history finally available to European growers. Our team highly recommends it to those looking for competition-grade extractions and buds with a “wet” resin look. It is a wildly potent indica that never disappoints on the scales or the palate.
