Auto Desfrán® is a Sativa-dominant autoflowering variety with beautiful compact buds and an abundance of white trichomes. This variety usually has a sweet and sour tropical skunk aroma with hints of lemon, apple and pear. Some phenotypes have some spicier notes reminiscent of cloves and anise.
The scent is very complex and is described as having a layered terpene profile. Her buds don’t smell like a standard cannabis strain, she is quite pungent, especially when smoked in a joint or vape.

Based on the genetics of the legendary jungle sativa, the world famous Desfrán, Dutch Passion have developed one of the best autoflowers ever. Desfrán’s photoperiod pure sativa genetics were converted into an autoflower by crossing her with the sativa-dominant autoflowering genetics of Auto Daiquiri Lime.
Desfrán, whose original photoperiod genetics consist of Destroyer x Destroyer, is a beautiful South American Sativa renowned for her very clear and energetic high. In this new sativa-dominant autoflowering hybrid the best sativa characteristics have been deliberately preserved.
In fact, it is precisely this strong sativa influence that ensures a flowering time long enough for an autoflower, even up to 15 weeks from seed to harvest. But the true connoisseur knows that a few more weeks are needed to be amply rewarded by the extraordinarily strong smoke quality and that strong psychoactive high.
Auto Desfrán is a very special sativa-dominant autoflower. It is a cross between our Desfrán and Auto Daiquiri Lime. Despite the Sativa-dominant parent strain, Auto Desfrán is a fairly compact autoflowering plant.
If you are a beginner looking for a true Sativa plant with a unique Sativa effect that is easy to grow, then Auto Desfrán is the plant you are looking for. This strain was developed with the aim of bringing a true Sativa experience to consumers but without the more difficult aspects of growing pure Sativa.
More experienced growers see these more difficult characteristics as an advantage, but for a beginner growing a true Sativa is always a great challenge. They are genetics known for a growth pattern that is difficult to predict and manage. Likewise it is more difficult to understand and dose also in terms of nutritional needs.

Overall it is a compact plant with short thick branches but the leaves are large with relatively thin tips. The distance between the internodes is medium-short. Most of the flowers grow together beautifully and the main bloom can get quite large. All flowers become heavy and compact to the touch.

It has an average height of about 1 meter, but smaller phenotypes are also found. If you grow it in a small pot it tends to stay shorter and flower a little faster. Consider an average time between 90 and 100 days from seed to harvest in an indoor grow.
Outdoors Auto Desfrán takes between 100 and 115 days from seed to harvest. It grows very well in full ground, but you can easily grow it in pots as well. In a greenhouse or tunnel greenhouse it will give the best results.
As it is robust and hardy, you can also use it as a guerrilla plant. Keep in mind that outdoors in the most humid and cold areas it could take 1 or 2 weeks. But we all know it’s worth the wait!
Auto Desfrán is mainly grown for the unique quality of its effect rather than for its productivity. It is the ideal variety for Sativa lovers and connoisseurs. This autoflower has an XL yield. Usually indoors it can produce between 450 and 500 g/m2.
For this reason it needs more time than the average of other autoflowers. She also produces lots of resin and lots of trichomes, making her buds super sticky. Outdoors she delivers heavy yields, averaging 25-100g per plant. Even higher yields are possible if grown in a greenhouse or polytunnel.
This variety prefers sunny areas with high temperatures, make sure you germinate it directly in the final pot, in order to ensure a bigger plant and higher productivity. These autoflowering seeds also grow well in a more temperate climate due to their resilience and hardiness.
Auto Desfrán is an autoflowering strain that does not require special growing methods or conditions. It grows very well naturally. She is the perfect Sativa for space-constrained grow rooms. She is almost a pure Sativa in fact, but has the appearance of a compact medium sized Indica, making her the ideal plant for a SOG grow as well.
If you want to get the highest yields possible, we recommend that you try growing with this method. It produces an exceptionally pungent aroma, which is why it makes sense to provide these plants with good ventilation and an extraction system (with carbon filter) adequate.
Extra odor control towards the end of the flowering stage and during harvest is a must. If your Auto Desfrán turns out to be bigger than you expected, you can always bend, break or “supercrop” it.
